O2 Business Channel Marketing

Our client

O2 Business Channel Marketing – pan-European telecommunications company with 49 million customers.

The brief

Create a direct mail item to encourage businesses to join O2, in turn generating a donation to East Anglian Air Ambulance.

In timely fashion, Richard Hammond of Top Gear fame had just very publicly used one, after his near-fatal accident while driving a Vampire Jet car at 288 mph (we did say we like the detail). It was very much at the forefront of people's minds.

The idea

A helicopter out of £50 notes, (submitted along with a few more simple options).

The extra mile

The idea is one thing, achieving it is another. Once we enlisted the services of the UK's foremost origamists, the rest was easy.

Within a week the model was built, photographed, artworked and printed. We even thought to check with the Bank of England for permission.

The result

Wrights delivered on brand, on budget, on time… on the money.

The response

“When we asked Wrights to come up with an idea, we didn't quite expect a helicopter made out of money. It was certainly different. We're very pleased with the uptake from the campaign, so much so we're considering running the campaign across our other regions. I do get asked ‘how did you do that?’ and I must admit I wasn't sure how they would …but I knew I didn't have to worry – Wrights consistently deliver for me.”
